The empowerment of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)  is causing the advent of a new era of nuclear energy.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has committed itself to "Help to ensure that nuclear energy is available to contribute in fulfilling energy needs in the 21st century in a sustainable manner; and to bring together both technology holders and technology users to consider jointly the international and national actions required to achieve desired innovations in nuclear reactors and fuel cycles."- IAEA-TECDOC-1362.

Fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas pollute the atmosphere with CO, CO2, Sox, Nox, etc., providing acid rains and changing the global climate by increasing the greenhouse effect, while nuclear energy does not produce these pollutants.

Renewable energies such as solar and wind, though have their merits, are not able to deliver sufficient energy required by the developing and developed countries.

The objective of the FBNR Project is to develop an innovative nuclear reactor to be inherently safe, passively cooled, small, modular, and simple in design with
integrated primary circuit.

Safety is to be achieved by design, and should have reduced adverse impact on environment. It is to meet the requirements of GEN IV and IAEA-INPRO as being economic, safe, proliferation resistant and sustainable.

FBNR is intended to be a near term deployment project.

FBNR may be called the People’s Reactor. It is intended to be developed by the peoples for the peoples of the world in the spirit of cooperation and service to humanity.

Knowledge is treasury of humankind, thus scientists are the treasurers of humanity.

This project calls upon all the scientists and researchers of the world to contribute to this noble cause.

You in particular, your institution, and your country are invited to participate in this project and join the emerging international consortium to develop the FBNR reactor, where all members are stakeholders.
